The Rockwall - Kootenay national park
This is a 55 km trail located in Kootenay National Park. Along this trail you will wander through pine forests and sub alpine meadows, and see glacial lakes and hanging glaciers, all while you traverse three alpine passes (maximum for 2600 m elevation). The ‘Rockwall’, for which the trail is named, is a massive limestone cliff that reaches more than 900 meters over the trail (don’t worry, you will walk beside it, not scale it!). Access points are Helmet Creek (via Paint Pots trail head) and Floe Creek (via Floe Lake trail head).
There are 5 campgrounds along the Rockwall trail. Each campground has tent pads, dry toilets, picnic tables and food storage cables or lockers.
