Lake O'hara - Yoho national park
As a part of this group, you will have the opportunity to day hike and through hike in Yoho National Park. Day hiking will take place at the spectacular Lake O’hara. This is the site for which the entire trip is named. People come from all over the world to see this iconic lake and hike in the surrounding mountains. The through hiking portion of your trip will take place in the Takkakaw Falls area. You will be spending half of the trip in each hiking area.
There are 30 sites at the Lake O’hara campground. This campground is accessible by private bus and has tent pads, 2 kitchen shelters, a fire pit, food and garbage storage, grey water disposal, outhouses and treated water.
- Use only the designated tent pads - max of one 4 person tent per pad
- Restriction of 2 small bags per person. Hard sided food coolers, storage bins, plastic bags, and loose items are not permitted on the bus. Leave instruments, electronics, chairs and hammocks behind.
- Bear aware procedures for food preparation and storage must be observed
- One medium sized storage locker per tent site is provided
For ALL campsites and hiking areas:
- Do not leave your ‘mark, even if others have’. Carving and jiffy marker evidence of you or your group will result in consequences.
- Be respectful representatives of our school, community and country
